EXPRESS Danish tactician Jan Fray was fired yesterday following a sequence of insignificant performances since joining the club last season from KCC.

The club accused Fray of lack of tactical knowledge and planning without motive. They are reportedly wooing Kenyan tactician James Sianga, currently with Simba of Tanzania but on holiday in Kampala.

According to club secretary Kavuma Kabenge, the Dane who had been contracted for three years had simply blown it all in just his first year.

“We have decided to sack him. We will not regret over that because he has not brought anything different to our game. We had set challenges for him that he failed to meet,” said Kabenge.

Kabenge however disclosed that the benefit of doubt will be given to Cranes tactician Leo Adraa, who had been deputising Fray.

“Adraa will definitely take charge as head coach. He has performed credibly with national teams and suits well to our ambitions,” he added.

Express signed Fray in April this year following his resignation at rivals KCC. He had then accused the Lugogo club of failing to pay his sh5.3m salary arrears and of poor welfare.

Fray’s first assignment at Wankulukuku was to lead the Red Eagles through its CAF Cup campaign that however buckled in just the preliminary round with defeat to Zambia’s Green Buffaloes.
