BENEDICT Bukenya was voted artist of the month of October, at the Alliance Française’s monthly art exhibition organised by Alliance Française and the Uganda Artists Association.
BENEDICT Bukenya was voted artist of the month of October, at the Alliance Française’s monthly art exhibition organised by Alliance Française and the Uganda Artists Association.
He will hold an exhibition showcasing sculpture and multi-media paintings at Alliance Française on Tuesday October 21, from 6:00pm for three weeks.
Bukenya, 26, is a freelance artist, working as a sculptor, designer and multimedia artist. He is currently working as a volunteer with Ngoma International Artists’ workshops based in Bukoto.
Bukenya holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial and fine art from the Makerere University. He has participated in a number of art exhibitions and workshops in Uganda, Kenya, Egypt and Namibia. This, however, will be his second solo exhibition.
In his work, Bukenya experiments with wood and metal and uses acrylics, oils, bitmap.
