LAWRENCE Sematimba entered the record books when he hit the fastest half century in the Castle Lager league on Sunday.

Wanderers registered a comprehensive seven wicket victory against Kutchh Madu in a Super Six tie at Entebbe oval on Sunday.

The upper order batsman smashed 50 runs off 29 balls including seven boundaries and two sixes before he was clean bowled by Hiran Dhiraj (1/33).

The ace was in tandem partnership with opener Hirary Kafuuka (55*) and mid order Kenneth Kamyuka (22) who combined efforts to overhaul Kutchh’s paltry score of 142 runs with 25 overs at hand.

At Lugogo, Emmanuel Issanez glittered with the ball to claim a career best six wickets for 17 runs as Patidar demolished Castle Development XI by five wickets.

Ivan Thawithemwira stole the limelight at Kyambogo, playing a pivotal role to lead Africa to an eight-wicket victory over Nile CC.

In the Saturday Bagurusi league, tension rocked champions Engineers who were lucky to survive an upset infront of Media CC.

MCC restricted the Engineers to 56 all out in 20 overs after fabulous bowling from Sula Dumba (4/14).
