OCEANIA Pacific Boxing Federation(OPBF) heavyweight champion Peter “Ishimaru” Okello and featherweight Jackson “Action” Asiku could land Commonwealth title shots early next year, The New Vision has learnt.

Commonwealth Boxing Council(CBC)president Celestino Mindra, has stated that the two Ugandan boxers are ripe for title shots and has started lobbying for the fights for them.

“The two fighters are in the right frame to challenge for Commonwealth crowns and I am working around to see they get challenges,” Mindra said
“I pushed for these two fighters in our last meeting in Cardiff last month and will continue campaigning for them.”

Okello, 6,2” who is 13-3-0 (12 KOs) and is the champion in the Pacific Rim has defended his OPBF belt fives and has demolished all his opponents.

“One thing is that Danny Williams, the Commonwealth heavyweight champion, fears losing his title to Okello”.
