NATIONAL Council of Sports (NCS) has moved in to help solve the football crisis, by organising a meeting between FUFA and Top TV before court hears their case on Friday.

The meeting, which follows another inconclusive one yesterday at Lugogo is set for tomorrow, just a day before the Top TV case is heard by justice Okumu Wengi at Kampala High Court.

It is aimed at solving the case filed by the club, contesting a demotion from the Nile Special Super League outside court.

Yesterday’s meeting was attended by Haruna Mawanda from FUFA, Benon Sserubiri and Edward Sserungoji from Top TV and John Odyek on behalf of council.

“It was just a formal meeting but everything will be concluded on Thursday. We are doing our parental role to help save the image of football in the country,” said the NCS acting boss Odyek, after the meeting.

Meanwhile, Top TV officials have accused FUFA of scaring their witnesses with life bans in case they do not disassociate themselves with the court case.

“We are trying to bring justice in the game but the officials are making it difficult for us,” said a club official.

Club owners Christian Life Ministries through lawyers David Ssempala filed a case accusing FUFA of wrongful demotion, despite finishing above relegation.

Top TV had walked off the pitch while two down against Express in the last league game. They were protesting an alleged poor officiation.
