Jenkins Mukasa to release new album
Last Friday evening was a fruitful one. There in the open space in front the BAT cafeteria, Jenkins Mukasa (right) started off the first in a series of fundraising drives for his debut album Suubi.
The 12-track album will be officially launched on November 19 at Ange Mystique in a mini concert that will feature such young and upcoming musical talents as 2003 PAM Award nominees Benon & Vamposs and Maurice Kirya among others.
Meanwhile, WBS TV yesterday released the video to the title track, the first ever for Jenkins. Suubi includes such radio favourites as Baby It’s You, Eddembe and Nandyesiimye. Jenkins Mukasa is a professional marketeer with BAT.

Titan Takuba makes great strides
Anybody remember Titan Takuba (pictured), the husky-voiced singer who flew off for greener pastures? Apart from occasional times when we hear his Nalongo Wange blare out on radio, there has not been a lot of indication that Takuba’s musical career is still alive. But news from Brussels, Belgium, where the singer is based, indicates otherwise.
Apparently, Titan, now a father, will soon release a new album titled Miracle, thanks to a deal he cracked with a German-based medic who is now his new promoter and manager. The doctor parted with over 10,000 euros (sh20m) for Takuba to record the album in Dy Studio, a prestigious and expensive studio in which such renowned African musical stars as Koffi Olomide and Yonsou N’Dour have recorded. Meanwhile, The singer has already kicked off a European tour, which began in German over the Independence weekend and took him back to Brussels last weekend. This weekend he is over to Amsterda.
