KAMPALA – Former finance minister in Obote‘s government, Henry Makmot, recently accused the former defence secretary Ben Mbonye, for refusing to clear over sh8m in hotel bills. Makmot was testifying before Justice James Ogoola, the head of the Commercial Court.

Low of 3%
KAMPALA – About 800 business establishments owned by locals contribute 3% to the national coffers. This was revealed by the executive director of Enterprise Uganda, Charles Ocici recently. Enterprise Uganda is a business advisory organisation.

Sensitisation
KAMPALA – Sheraton hotel has started educating its staff on customer care improvement. Kwashie Gbedema, the food and beverages manager, said this during a tour of Uganda Breweries Limited premises in Luzira Port Bell on Friday.

Seminars
TORORO – The East African Portland cement company, producers of Blue Triangle cement have carried out seminars for builders in the east. Caleb Kapten, the manager said that was to help builders avoid mistakes at work.
