Man, 28, to stand trial
MUKONO — Court on Tuesday committed a man to the High Court to face murder trial. Prosecution said Lawrence Maseruka, 28, of Kangulumira in Kayunga, strangled his three-year-old daughter and buried her in an ant-hill on May 1. He was arrested after his wife reported the incident to Police and demanded his arrest.

‘Kony still has chance’
GULU — Joseph Kony, the leader of the Lord's Resistance Army rebels, would not be prosecuted if he denounced the rebellion, the members of Acholi Parliamentary Group, said recently during a rally at Amuru. The MPs were addressing residents in a one-week campaign to rally them behind the Government in the war against the rebels.

LRA rebels kill seven
KITGUM — The Lord's Resistance Army rebels on Thursday killed seven people including the stepfather of Tabuley and abducted others in Palabek-Gem sub-county, the resident district commissioner, Lt. Santo Okot Lapolo, said. Lapolo said the killing was a message to the residents to leave the area for the burial of Tabuley who was killed last week by the UPDF.

Museveni meets Kabila
WASHINGTON D.C. — President Yoweri Museveni and his DR Congo counterpart, Joseph Kabila, have held talks in the city. They discussed the peace process in DRC among other issues. The meeting took place Thursday at President Museveni's St. Regis Hotel suite, the State House said yesterday.
