THE Big Brother Africa (BBA) reality show was re-enacted at the Entebbe International Airport yesterday when the 11 former housemates were reunited, three months after the show, reports Geoffrey Kamali.

The BBA stars are here to take part in this year’s international AIDS Day celebrations and the HIV/AIDS awareness campaign.

They hugged, kissed and screamed with joy in the VIP lounge after nine of the 10 expected housemates arrived on two separate flights. Ghana’s Sammi Kwame Bampoe was not there.

First to touch down was a South African Airways flight at about 1:15pm, from which three of them, Bruna Estivao from Angola, Stefan Ludhik (Namibia) and Warona Masego (Botswana) emerged.
“This is lovely. I love your country,” said Stefan. Later, a Kenya Airways flight touched down at 2:25pm and from it came Zambia’s Cherise Makubale, the winner, Abby Plaatjes (South Africa) and Malawi’s Zein Dhuda.

“Gae-taaanoooo!” Abby could not hide her joy at the sight of Gaetano Kaggwa, her BBA lover, who played indifferent. He instead played the perfect host, taking their passport books to the immigration desk.

Others were Kenya’s Alex Holi, Zimbabwe’s Tapuwa Mhere, Mwisho Mwapamba from Tanzania and promoter Martin Van Breda from Endemol, the BBA joint sponsor.

They were welcomed by officials from UNAIDS, Kampala, among them the programme officer, Jane Batte. Earlier, Batte denied UNAIDS had signed a $450,000 (sh900m) contract with Gaetano, reports J. Etyang.

He said the organisation was only working with the other former housemates for the annual celebrations of the World Aids Day on December 1.
