Sir - The withdrawals that have occurred in the just-started CECAFA Senior Challenge Cup show how less the teams now value the competition.
The tournament’s lack of marketing, plus its plunging standards, are the main reasons that teams no longer find the competition worthy of their attention.
To this end, it’s up to the new president of CECAFA, our own Denis Obua, to try and revive the prestige of the event that has such a good legacy.
