FUFA vice-president Godfrey Kwizera has said they sent names of Uganda’s representatives to CAF competitions because ‘no one can contest that SC Villa won the league and Express FC the Kakungulu Cup.’

“These are facts that can not be contested. Villa won the league on a three-goal difference while Express won the Kakungulu Cup.

Whatever happened will not force us to change the results,” Kwizera swore.

SC Villa have been entered in next year’s African Champions League, and Express in the CAF Cup, despite an order by NCS that any decision be taken after a probe into soccer match-fixing is completed.

“The minister (Okello Oryem) told us to contact council. We tried to call council chairman Wilson Tumwiine but he was not willing to give us a final stand and that is why we went on with the registration.

Remember we had a deadline and time was running out,” said Kwizera in Kampala yesterday.

The Stephen Kavuma probe report into Ugandan football is ready, and will be handed to National Council of Sports this week.
