Outgoing Church of Uganda Archbishop Mpalanyi Nkoyooyo (right), has advised the Christians of Madi West Nile Diocese to work for unity.

In his farewell message at Arua Emmanuel Cathedral recently, Nkoyooyo described as a joke Arua Archdeaconry’s demand for a separate diocese.

“This is not time to joke but to work together to serve God because division will not help us. You can’t create a diocese with in a diocese. This diocese has been in existence for over 40 years,” he said.

Nkoyooyo attributed the existing misunderstanding among the Christians in the diocese to the many number of archdeaconries.

He advised Bishop Dr. Enock Lee Dradi to reduce the number of archdeaconries to six for proper management.
