A NURSERY school pupil failed a primary school interview, after he sang the ‘wrong song.’

The five-year-old boy was among over 30 pupils who sat an interview for next year’s admissions for the primary section of a Christian primary school in Kampala.

After a written interview, the boy was asked to identify a number of objects which he did successfully.

He was then asked to sing a song. The boy then sang Gerald Kiweewa’s hit single, Eggaali Ekozeeko, which did not go down well with the teaching staff.

Eggaali Ekozeeko means ‘a used bicycle,’ in Luganda, and alludes to a woman who has been married before. The song is about the singer’s preference for such women. To make matters worse, while singing the song, the young boy danced in a manner which the teachers of the school considered obscene.

The boy’s embarrassed mother tried to remind the boy of some nursery rhymes, but the boy instead did a repeat performance of Eggaali Ekozeeko.

The teachers would not admit him, saying he would corrupt the morals of the other pupils.
