KAMPALA — Court has sentenced an employee with White Coach Bus company to three months imprisonment for beating a traffic Police officer. Nickson Obong, 19, of Kakooge ‘A’ central division in Lira district, beat Kituno, attached to Kawempe Police Station. He committed the offence at Bwaise on November 26.

One charged with fraud
KAMPALA — Court on Thursday charged a businessman with obtaining sh280,000 from friends by false pretence, purporting to get them jobs. John Walle, 29, of Kamwokya, allegedly obtained the money from Geoffrey T. Okech and others who were seeking jobs through him from Tourists and Travel Agency Uganda Limited in October. Walle denied the charge before City Hall Grade one Magistrate Deborah Wanume. She remanded him to Luzira Prisons.

Thief jailed five years
KAMPALA — Mwanga II Court on Thursday sentenced a man to five years imprisonment after finding him guilty of keeping stolen property. James Luwagga, 32, of Wankulukulu in Rubaga, appeared before Grade Two Magistrate Charles Yeteise. Prosecution alleges that between September and October Luwagga was found with stolen property hidden underground his house. Court heard that the property belonged to his neighbours.
