THE executive of the Rural Broadcasters Association (RBA) has refuted allegations that Amanya Mushega, the secretary general of the East African Legislative Assembly (EALA), told them the assembly’s members “do nothing,” reports Jude Etyang.

RBA president Dr. Nkumuhayo Rwacumika told The New Vision on Friday that Mushega did not make the allegation as EALA member Sheila Kwamara said.

Kwamara made the allegations during a recent EALA plenary session in Arusha.

Rwacumika said Mushega, on the contrary, said the EALA members were doing a lot of work but the media was not publicising their activities.

“He (Mushega) did not say that the EALA members do nothing. He was full of praises for the legislators’ hard work. We discussed how to increase sensitisation of the EALA activities in the region,” Rwacumika said.
