MASAKA - Julius Agaba, a senior four student of Kabula High School, has filed an assault case accusing his teacher Remegius Kasozi of hitting him on the head with a club before a UNEB exam, causing serious bleeding and loss of concentration. Kasozi allege-dly hit Agaba after he arrived 15 minutes late for the exam. He said he had suspected Agaba to have delayed in order to cheat.

Man fined
KAMPALA - A man who confessed before Mwanga II Magistrate G. Mugoya was recently fined sh500,000 for carelessly using Wakaliga road, Nateete and knocking down a pedestrian. Dauda Senabulya, 50, a resident of Kazo Nabweru, was convicted on his own plea.

Youth told
KAYUNGA - The state minister for gender and cultural affairs, Sam Bitangaaro, has advised the youth to champion the struggle against the spread of HIV/AIDS. He was recently commissioning the Ssekabaka Mutesa I cultural Centre. He urged locals to denounce circumcision and traditional marriages, saying they are the key aspects to HIV/AIDS.

Govt blamed
