STRIKER Christopher Kiwawulo hit a brace, goalkeeper Steven Odeu saved a penalty and defender Joseph Opio cleared three balls off the line as Editorial won The New Vision inter-departmental football tournament.

Richard Okot and Kiwawulo struck the opening two goals as Editorial controlled the game, with Deputy Editor-in-Chief David Sseppuuya marshalling the midfield at City High ground on Saturday.

Bukedde crawled back in a space of five minutes through Hannington Nkalubo and Godfrey Kirewa to make it 3-2 at half time.

Bukedde tried to fight back but Opio stood in their way, foiling all their attempts, while Odeu was in good form, even saving Kirewa’s penalty in the dying minutes. Kirewa, Mubiru, and Kateregga have all featured in Nile Special Super league for KCC and Simba.

As crestfallen Bukedde editor Maurice Ssekawungu walked away, his New Vision counterpart JB Wasswa and deputy Hellen Mukibi stormed the field and danced to a successful season. The winning team received a trophy and a bull from Human Resource Manager Eseza Byakika.

FIFA referee Fred Mufuta, assisted by Ali Tomusange — the first Ugandan to officiate at the World Cup and Alfred Mubanda all with FIFA badges, handled the match.
