UGANDA’s programme to provide free anti-retroviral drugs (ARVs) to HIV/AIDS patients is on course, health minister, Jim Muhwezi has said.

Muhwezi said the programme would go on in spite of the alleged row between the health and finance ministries on whether Uganda should accept funds for AIDS, TB and malaria from international donors.

Muhwezi was reacting to a Sunday Vision story in which the Global Fund to Fight AIDS, TB and malaria, (GFATM) alleged that the finance ministry was frustrating the release of anti-AIDS cash.

The GFATM executive director, Richard Feachem and his senior advisor, Vinand Nantulya raised the complaints at the end of the recent tour of Uganda by US Health Secretary, Tommi Thompson.
