The school, which opened Dec 13, is founded at an international level targeting students not only from Uganda but also the whole of East Africa.

The school is a private school run in partnership with the Family alliance for Development Corporation a Non Governmental Organisation based in Kagera Region.
According to school head teacher, Mr Suuna luutu the school will offer different subjects and co-curricular activities as part of the school curriculum.
“Ours is going to be an all round curriculum. Our main aim at St. James Secondary School is to develop intellectual, physical and spiritual capacities of students by equipping them with knowledge, practical skills and attitudes to positively influence their environment, he says.
Among other subjects, St James is to offer vocational subjects such as carpentry, computer science, home economics, knitting, welding, tailoring, brick laying and construction and improved agricultural practices.
