Prof. Peter Kasenene, the state minister for privatisation, has said the National Insurance Corporation Limited is expected to be fully divested by next year.
Kasenene said divestiture details for the 39-year parastatal were in top gear and negotiations with interested bidders were likely to start in January.
Kasenene was on Friday speaking at the end of year party for NICL staff held at Fairway Hotel in Kampala.
“I want to assure you that the divestiture will not affect you the workers. We are just completing the process that we started,†Kasenene said.
Kasenene commended NICL for the good services it had provided over the years and highlighted NICL’s position as a market leader in the sector.Ends
