DESPITE sweeping most of the trophies in the 9th national university games at Namboole, Kampala International University is threatened with a two-year ban for using mercenaries in most of the disciplines. “There were prevalent complaints for using mercenaries by KIU and Kampala University,” Patrick Sebuliba of the committee said.

THE Uganda Handball Federation will next month send a 20-woman contingent of players to Dar-es-salaam. They are expected to leave on January 20, 2004 in order to take part in some of the friendly matches organised by Right to Play, Tanzania. The Handball contingent will then represent Uganda in the All Africa championships expected to start on 28 January.
