Two arrested over theft BUNDIBUGYO-The Police have arrested two people over theft. The western region Police spokesperson, Elly Matte, said Richard Musoke Baguma, 42, of Namasuba, a Kampala suburb and Meshach Bwabale, 32, of Bundibugyo were arrested on Wednesday with a lorry, which was stolen from Kampala. He said the two were taking the lorry to the Democratic Republic of Congo through the Busunga border post.

District builds office block KABAROLE -The local government has started constructing an administration block at Kitumba sub-county. The district assistant engineer, David Mijumbi, said the work, estimated to cost over sh4b, would be done in two phases. The first phase, comprising 30 offices and a conference hall, will end in August. The LC5 chairperson, Michael Mugisa, said President Yoweri Museveni paid sh100m towards the construction, a pledge he made in 2001.

District official to protect orphans BUSHENYI-The deputy resident district commissioner has condemned the rate at which relatives are grabbing property that belongs to orphans. Nickson Kabuye said some relatives had resorted to forging land titles and wills to grab the property. He vowed to arrest anybody found trying to cheat the orphans, saying the district had created a desk to handle such matters.
