THE Omukama of Toro, King Oyo Kabamba Iguru has joined ProLine Academy to improve his soccer skills.

The 16-year-old king has been training at the Kampala-based academy for three weeks. According to officials, he is enjoying his training at Lugogo.

“At first when he came here he found it hard to mix in with others. But we told him that he has to get used to the atmosphere and he has really adjusted well,” Mujib Kasule, the academy’s director said.

“We are honored to have a king joining the academy and hope that this will encourage more parents to send there kids.”

However the Omukama was barred by his security team from talking to the press.

The towering Oyo , who is a die-hard Arsenal fan, trains on weekends with colleagues in the U-16 category. According to Kasule, he loves football though he does not want to play the game to a professional level, but just for leisure.

ProLine Academy is the first fully fledged soccer academy in East Africa that was established three years ago. It is an initiative by former national player Kasule. The academy has received backing and support from Manchester United and England international Rio Ferdinand together with his father Julian. Julian is its patron.

ProLine has six age categories with a total of 250 boys. Some play part-time and others on a full-time basis.
