SC VILLA manager Chris Mubiru has defended the absence of Godfrey Walusimbi and Emmanuel Okwir’s absence from Cranes’ CECAFA squad, saying that they were sick and were released officially.

Chris Mubiru said yesterday that Okwir missed Cranes’ training due to an injury he got in the Kakungulu Cup while Walusimbi was down with ulcers.

“These players reported in camp and where even treated by the team doctor before they were given permission to go for further treatment,” said Mubiru.

But FUFA president Lawrence Mulindwa had earlier on said that the players had walked out of Cranes’ camp.
