The battle for leadership in the Mbale Division One soccer league is a two-horse race between former premier league sides CRO and Mbale Heroes. CRO have collected 33 points while Heroes have 32 points followed by Kataka with 23.

Katto’s Subaru nears delivery
- EMMA Katto’s new Subaru Impreza STI N15 (TMR09) is ready for shipping to Uganda according to the constructors Tommie Makinen Racing (TMR). The former national champion plans to use his new car for the 2009 Africa Rally Championship battles. Katto’s other machine, a Subaru N14, will be restricted to National Rally Championship events. TMR is a major supplier of rally cars with clients in Europe, Middle East and Russia.

Bugembe gets African mission
- FIFA assistant referee Hussein Bugembe has been drafted on the referees’ list at the U-20 African Youth Championship after he impressed in a Cooper test at Amahoro Stadium in Kigali.
