COACH George Lutalo is laying special emphasis on attack ahead of Victors FC’s CAF Confederations Cup match on Saturday with Zimbabwean side Caps United.

“We want to perfect all attacking options. We want to lighten our task in Harare with a good Kampala win,” explained the former Police FC defender after the Kakungulu Cup holders’ morning training at Kakindu in Jinja yesterday.

Set pieces, which are taken lightly by most Ugandan teams, are key to Lutalo’s tactics. Strikers Noah Semakula and Simon Sserunkuma are putting in extra hours practising dead-ball situations.

Victors have been in camp since Christmas. “In Jinja the team is focused. There are no disturbances. We can hold meetings anytime to resolve or plan for anything,” noted Lutalo.

The team’s spirits were high yesterday after midfielder Edris Kaye recovered from a back injury. Striker Michael Kampi however still had a back ache.

The return leg will be on February 14 in Harare. Caps United are expected in Kampala today.

The Zimbabwean side has meanwhile recalled midfielder Oscar Machapa from trials in South Africa, to boost their squad for the encounter on Saturday.

Caps coach Lloyd Chitembwe has drafted the lanky 21-year-old Machapa, who has had a successful trial at South African Premiership champions SuperSport United.

Machapa and veteran striker Limited Chikafa were recalled to boost the squad. The Zimbabwe league was called off to allow maximum preparations for Caps Utd.
