SADIK Nasiwu is the new Uganda Volleyball Federation (UVF) president after edging Tom Aisu Omongole by two votes in a closely contested poll at Lugogo, Sunday.

The former UVF secretary sailed through after polling 43-41 votes from 84 eligible voters, ending Omongole’s 10-year reign.

“I have no hard feelings and I don’t regret what happened. That is good for the game,” said Omongole.
“I served volleyball with a lot of commitment and I will continue doing the same,” said Omongole.

Omongole is the Bukedea RDC and also a member of the Uganda Olympic Committee executive. By virtue of being a Confederation of Africa Volleyball vice president, Omongole who is also the East and Central Africa Volleyball Association chairman remains an executive committee member of UVF.

The post of treasurer went to Joseph Odongo (33 votes) of Sport-S volleyball club who beat incumbent Geoffrey Lwalanda (23) and Nkumba’s Godwin Ssenyondo (28). Nason Bwesigye remained unopposed as vice president administration.

Others, who came in unopposed, were vice president Patricia Ahumuza, Cornelius Egwenyu and Pheobe Tucungwire.
