Why ladies enjoy the thrill of being chased

SIX missed calls! Can you imagine? Six missed calls! One, two ...five, six. Hahaha. The guy is dying! Let him ‘nesh’,” Shanice screamed, as she scrolled through her phone, after a night out in the club.

It was Bobby, her boyfriend whom she was considering breaking up with. The two had had a fight four days back and had both cut off communication.

And also because of previous issues, Shanice had decided to call it quits and vowed never to look back.

However, by the time he called, she could bear the silence no more, she wished he could break the silence.

Shanice was angry that he had not called her and had not even sent a message to apologise or ask for a second chance, much as she was not taking him back.

She wanted him to plead, send bouquets of flowers and cards begging for another chance.

But why do women love being chased by men? More so, by more than one man?

In most cases, these are women with a low self-esteem. Their confidence can only be boosted when many guys sing praises of their beauty, among other things.

Such people are usually attention seekers and would not rest until they are told what they want to hear. More so, some are looking for love and acceptance their parents may not have given them.

Being in an era where peer pressure has a lot of impact on the young people, some girls fish for such compliments from men because they want to fit in with their friends.

There is no doubt every woman loves to know that there is at least one good man interested in her, otherwise, how will she ever get the chance to wear that wedding gown she has dreamed of all her life?

But a woman ought to check with herself if, by the age of 30, no guy has approached her.

This can be stressing.
However, having more than one man showing interest in a woman can also irritate a woman, especially if she is not interested.

Some women even get so confused and overwhelmed that they end up with the wrong men.

‘One Adam for one Eve and one Eve for one Adam’ is not a bad ideal, neither is playing-hard-to-get. But women do not have to make men suffer in a bid to prove a point.

Like the Bible says: “Beauty is vain, but the woman who honours the Lord shall be praised.”

Let beauty not mislead women and neither should guys’ sweet nothings fool them; women should think with their heads and trust their hearts.
