UK-based model, Eva Mbabazi, knows how to fall Japanese style — fall far away and when you get up, do so with something in your hands.

Early last year, she was fighting for dear life in a London hospital where she was admitted with bleeding in her brain.

While recuperating in hospital, Mbabazi had big ideas to get up with. She started her own modelling agency in the UK, EVAMODELS, soon after recuperating. Now EVAMODELS is set to launch the first Face of Uganda 2009—2010 modelling competition come September.

So, if you are an aspiring Ugandan male, female or teenage model, this could be your chance to flaunt yourself on the pages of fashion magazines, strut your stuff on international catwalks and secure a successful international career in the modelling industry.

Twenty contestants will battle it out for the men’s and women’s titles and an additional 20 contestants will battle it out for the teen titles. Prizes will include an exclusive photo shoot for the cover of a leading fashion magazine and a cash prize fund in excess of sh10,000,000 up for bags by the winners and their runners-up.

The male and female winners of the grand final will each receive sh1,000,000. Sh750,000 and sh500,000 will be given to the second and third winners, respectively.

The teen male and female winners of the grand final will each receive sh750,000; sh500,000 prize for second and sh250,000 prize for third place.

The winners will be announced at the final and will also appear at a VIP fashion show as part of the Eva Models official launch in December 2009.

Registration for the contest that Mbabazi promises to be big is currently only available on the Face of Uganda website, www.evamodels.co.uk, though registration forms will be distributed in the country in the upcoming months.

Mbabazi, a resilient Ugandan model, catapulted to infamy in 1999 when she stormed Rock Gardens Bar at Speke Hotel in a fishnet outfit that left nothing to imagination.

She has set up Face of Uganda to promote and give exposure to young men and women, whose dreams and ambitions are to become a leading models.
