President Yoweri Museveni has paid tribute to visiting South Korean medical experts for aiding heart patients in Uganda. Museveni met the team at the State House, Nakasero. In their one-week stay in the country, the Korean doctors, working with their Ugandan counterparts, have performed six free heart surgeries on Ugandans. Museveni thanked the Ugandan and Korean doctors for treating the heart patients. He also commended them for their commitment to reducing the number of Ugandans going abroad for heart surgery.

MP denies dodging review

Busongora South county MP Christopher Kibanzanga has refuted claims that Forum for Democratic Change (FDC) MPs rejected calls for appraisal from the National Executive Committee. The committee is the top body that governs the opposition party. At the party’s weekly press briefing last Monday, FDC spokesperson Wafula Oguttu said FDC MPs declined to participate in the proposed evaluation. When asked for comment, Kibanzanga denied rejecting the proposal, saying the idea was bound to have setbacks since it was new. He added that the appraisal was a brainchild of the party MPs.
