SIX candidates were on Thursday nominated for Mbarara University of Science and Technology guild elections.
They are Habibu Sseruwagi, Deus Nkwasiibwe, Darius Turyahikayo, Francis Oga, Akampa Mukuve and Don Mutabiirwa.
The university’s electoral commission chairman, Laktar Bismarck, said the nominations were peaceful.
He warned the candidates against breaking the rules of the university during their campaigns.
Bismarck said candidates would be disqualified if they campaigned along the lines of multi-party politics because the university was a neutral institution.
He said over 2,879 students registered for voting in the elections due on Friday.
There were seven candidates nominated last year.
