“I beg the commission to do its work positively. I must say, if the commission does its work with bias, curse upon you and your families.”

These were the words of Augustine Ssekaweke, 48, the 111th witness to testify to the Serulanda probe commission on Friday.

Ssekaweke said he joined the Serulanda Foundation at the age of 15.

He said the Obote and Amin regimes frustrated the group from growing, but they remained patient.

The Foundation, Ssekaweke, vowed, would go a head to build the free trade zone in Maska, with or without the Government’s approval.

The trade zone, Ssekaweke said, was revealed to their spiritual leader, Bambi Baaba, alias Joseph Mugonza, when he was only nine years old.

Ssekaweke said Serulanda was the focal point of the world and that the trade zone would bring peace to the world.

“The city will bring the whole world together. It will be a city of peace, love and harmony. That is why it is called Ssesamirembe/ Serulanda,” Ssekaweke claimed.

He accused the commission of bias, saying their spiritual leader would never appear before “the unbelieving commission”.

“His coming will bring catastrophe like that of Jesus before Pontius Pilate. If Bambi Baaba comes here, the whole country will suffer,” Ssekaweke said.

He described Mugonza as a living master sent by God to be a sign to the people.

Mugonza left for America in 1993 where he has since been. Efforts to have him appear before the Serulanda probe have so far failed.

Sewankambo, scoffed at the curse, saying it was baseless and uncalled for.

Sewankambo said the commission’s offer to pay for Mugonza’s return air ticket and to guarantee his security still stands.

“To resolve the contradictions that are emerging, we need somebody who is authoritative enough. There are details only he can explain,” said Ssewankambo.

He said Mugonza would be given the option to testify in private.

The commission was constituted last year by President Yoweri Museveni to investigate the activities of the Serulanda Spiritual Foundation and the proposed free trade zone.
