THE National Resistance Movement (NRM) has appointed two national directors and 50 administrative secretaries as permanent staff in the party district offices.

The appointments were approved by the central executive committee (CEC) chaired by President Yoweri Museveni at a meeting held on Monday.

According to a statement issued yesterday by the NRM secretary general, Amama Mbabazi, the appointments were made possible because the party now has a regular income.

Museveni appointed Norman Mutekanga as director of administration and finance, while Dr. Hassan Wasswa Galiwango was appointed director of mobilisation, recruitment and cadre development.

The CEC also appointed administrative secretaries at NRM offices in 50 districts who will be part of the permanent staff.

The other districts, especially the new ones, had either not sent their recommendations or certain requirements for the candidates had not been met, the statement explained.

During the meeting, the secretary general reported on the progress in the building of the Movement House, including the acquisition of the plot in Kampala.

The committee set up a sub-committee to study the technical aspects of the project.
