BUGANDA Kingdom has asked the Government to delay the tabling of the Land Bill in Parliament until the National Land Policy has been formulated.

The Kingdom’s premier, JB Walusimbi, in a recent meeting with the President, requested the tabling of the Bill to be put on hold “until all negotiations are held.”

It was reported in the press recently that President Yoweri Museveni had asked the Prime Minister, Prof. Apolo Nsibambi and the lands minister to re-introduce the Bill in Parliament.

The President was quoted as saying he received ago-ahead from the Buganda premier that the Kingdom’s concerns were being compiled into a document. However, Walusimbi refuted the claim in a letter.
