Bakka embracing rebels!
EDITOR- EDUCATION and sports state minister Charles Bakkabulindi recently gave a break away faction Uganda Amateur Boxing Clubs Association UABCA the go-ahead to organise the National Open.
True, as UABCA argued in their appeal to Bakkabulindi, there is need to have competition especially now when the nation should be seriously preparing for the 2010 Commonwealth Games.
It's also true that that boxers should be kept active all year round with a busy calendar. But isn't Bakkabulindi further messing up the boxing crisis by siding with a faction that he himself recently banned? I also find it intriguing that the minister can give audience to rebels at the expense of a properly elected executive.

EDITOR- IT'S good to hear that that the Federation of Motorsport of Uganda is organising a sprint in honour of former rally ace Riyaz Kurji.
That is truly the only way that great sportsmen like Kurji can be immortalized. I find it embarrasing that the boxing fraternity has not done the same for ring legend Leo Rwabwogo who passed on in January.
