The two huge pools of water that recently formed on Mbarara-Lyantonde highway have started drying after barely eight months of existence. The pods, Akayanja and Akageti, are located a few kilometres after Sanga town. They formed due to the stagnation of water caused by road works on the highway.

Muslims urged to unite

The deputy resident commissioner, Jeanne Kaliba, has said the Muslims are not united, adding that it has contributed to wrangles amongst them. Kaliba said there was also a power struggle and called on the Muslims to unite. She made the remarks recently at a Muslim conflicts resolution meeting at Mpanga Senior Secondary School. The Muslims in the past accused the Khadi, Sheikh Habib Mande, of selling property belonging to the Uganda Muslim Supreme Council. Mande was co-accused with Burahya county Sheik Hussein Mahabba.
