‘We’ll cope without Nabulobi’

LIFE without all-star forward Francese Nabulobi starts later this evening for the MTN-FUBA reigning women’s champions the Lady Canons, reports Charles Mutebi.

Nabulobi twisted her ankle in Canons’ 61-50 defeat by KCC Leopards last Friday and the Mukono University side will be short of her services for at least the next eight weeks. It starts with the game against Crane High today.

It is just as well the Canons today face a team that has lost all previous three matches and was humiliated 103-27 by the Leopards on Sunday.

Canons coach Robert Mugabe thinks today’s assignment will be taken care of even without his illustrious captain.

“Crane High is not a very big team,” Mugabe put it candidly, before seeking to put his statement in contest. “I’m not underestimating them but I think we have a better squad and my players should be able to beat them.”
