Two people drowned in River Nile at Namutya landing site in Busaana sub-county after their boat capsized on Sunday. The area LC1 chairperson George Isakwa identified the deceased as James Owora and Ongada Wandera. He said Sam Okumu, one of the fishermen who were in the boat, swarm to the shore. “It was their fist time to go fishing,” Isakwa said. Okumu said a strong wind blew their boat forcing it to capsize. Residents of Bugiri village in Katabi sub-county on Monday lynched Henry Mutangira for allegedly cutting off his father’s head with a Panga. He allegedly committed the crime last month. Mutangira’s father, Laadi Kisomba, was a witchdoctor. Residents said Mutangira, who had become saved, was always urging his father to abandon witchcraft and join Christianity. The Police said on Sunday residents spotted Mutangira as he sneaked into one of his father’s abandoned houses. On Monday, a mob armed with sticks and stones stormed the house and beat him to death. They set the body on fire outside, but the fire spread and burnt down the house. Mutangira’s family told the Police that they would not bury him at their burial grounds. The Police took the body to the City Mortuary in Kampala. It was learnt that the boy’s mother, who separated with his father a long time ago, stays in Nateete.
