UGANDA’S Confederation Cup representatives KCC FC will confront a Bayelsa United side struggling with a loss of confidence.

The Nigerians have not won a game since May 3 and on this evidence, there is little to suggest that will end soon.

While KCC managed to register victories against Bunamwaya (2-0), a draw (0-0) against Express, a 3-1 win over Bayelsa and 4-0 comfortable win over Nalubaale within the same period, Bayelsa has managed none.

Nigeria’s table leaders have since lost 2-0 to Gateway FC, 3-1 to KCC and 2-0 to Sunshine last Sunday.

“We will not look at previous performances as a basis of what to expect from them. We will approach the game with a plot to do the best against any formidable team playing in front of their own fans” KCC coach George Nsimbe stated before departure yesterday.

“That will definitely lift them. But I am happy with the team I have at my disposal, particularly with the return of (Patrick) Ssenfuka. He is a great part of my strategy in trying to keep the ball alongside (Ronald) Kamoga and (Godfrey) Kavulu.”

KCC left for Nigeria via Addis Ababa aboard Ethiopian Airlines.

The team: B. Ochan, A. Kaaya, S. Ssenoga, O. Hitimana, S. Mubiru, R. Kamoga, G. Kavulu, Ssenfuka, A. Bongole, B. Umony, R. Ssentongo, M. Musoke, S. Ssonko, J. Ssebuyira, C. Ssemanda, T. Okello, W. Kyambadde, M. Muhindo

* Police again showed scant respect for army side Simba yesterday. The cops whipped the soldiers 3-0 at Namboole to stride to fifth position on the Uganda Super League table.

Angelo Lonyesi’s side, which defeated Simba 2-1 in the first round in Bombo, were again in winning form with goals from Bruno Olobo and Peter Ssenyonjo. Ssenyonjo’s brace edged him closer to the top scorer’s prize with a tally of 22 goals.

Relegated Bugerere did not show up at Kakyeka.
