UKI wins as charity tourney raises sh6m

UKI Uganda Limited on Sunday won the Uganda Social Education and Welfare Association charity cricket tournament champions trophy that raised sh6m.

UKI Uganda Limited on Sunday won the Uganda Social Education and Welfare Association charity cricket tournament champions trophy that raised sh6m.

Sixteen teams participated in the three-week event that ended at MUBS on Sunday.

But the winners UKI got sh1m while Pak Styles walked away with sh500,000.

UKI also produced the man-of-the-match series Aliah Ghani who got sh200,000.

The association, started 12 years ago with membership of Ugandans of Indian origin who came from southern India, will use the money raised to help the domestic education sector.

Tournament coordinator Abdul Nasser, said schools to support will soon be identified. The official said they are glad to offer a helping hand.
