EDITH Baganda aka Mya is the newest entrant into the all girl R&B trio, Blu3, having come in as a replacement for Cindy Sanyu who went solo in 2007.

Mya was a model and dancer with
G-Force, a local dance act.
Many women admire Mya for her trendy, girlish style which completes her lithe physique.

Like Mya’s look in this photo? The singer-cum-dancer claims the items altogether cost about sh900,000, having been pieced together from the US, Dubai, Kenya and Uganda. But a keen admirer of Mya’s style can achieve the look for much less.

The translucent satin dress top she is wearing cost $175 (sh350,000) from the US. It can be worn with skinny jeans, leggings, hot pants, or micro mini skirts (just like the one Mya is wearing).

The latter cost her Ksh3,600 (sh80,000) from Sarit Centre in Nairobi, Kenya.

The shoes cost her sh90,000 from Gallo Fashions on Pioneer Mall, while the belt cost her sh50,000 from Ivory Plaza.

She bought the silver-plated necklace from Avemar Shopping Arcade at sh15,000. The genuine silver ring cost her sh100,000 from JIT Jewellers on Cham Towers.

The spiky Bikers’ Rock chic bangle came from Gazaland for sh40,000.
The hair and styling cost sh180,000 at Sattarah’s Salon on Ganesh Plaza, Entebbe Road.

That makes sh900,000 for Mya’s look altogether. If you want to achieve Mya’s look for much less, look no further than Mutaasa Kafeero Plaza.

The plaza is infamous for selling cheap China-made and Thailand-made replicas of designer clothes.

Mya’s dress tops costs at least sh40,000 in outlets in the basement. Most of these are made of cotton, not satin. Micro mini skirts here cost about sh25,000.

However, if you prefer wearing your dress top with cigarette jeans or leggings, you can get these here at sh30,000 or sh20,000, respectively.

Mya’s shoes cost sh65,000 here. Ladies’ oversize belts go for anything between sh15,000 to sh45,000, the final price being a result of a good haggling.

You can also find silver-plated ladies’ necklaces at this plaza for sh5,000.

Rock chic or bikers’ spiky bangles can be got from Nakivubo Parkyard Market at sh15,000. Go to Majestic Plaza basement for a hairstyle similar to Mya’s. This will cost sh90,000.

However, instead of Mya’s human hair weave, you will get a synthetic one.

JIT Jewellers at Cham Towers stocks cheaper silver rings at sh30,000; but these, of course, contain less silver than Mya’s. Altogether, you can achieve Mya’s look for sh285,000.
