President Yoweri Museveni has directed the Police to investigate the cause of the fire that gutted a Senior Six boys’ dormitory at Kisubi High School on Entebbe Road in Wakiso district.

The Sunday evening inferno destroyed all the property but no student was hurt or killed as they were attending night revision.

The Police suspect the fire was the work of arson.

Museveni who visited the school yesterday was received by the head teacher, Robinah Nsangi, according to a statement issued by State House.

“He pledged to support the school to reconstruct the facility,” it added.
Museveni congratulated the proprietor of the school, Herman Joseph Semakula, for adding value to education.

“I remember during the colonial days there was only one private school, Aggrey Memorial, but today, during the NRM era, there are over 3,000 private schools,” Museveni said.

The President interacted with the students whom he called ‘NRM children’. “You are very smart because you are of the NRM generation,” Museveni told the cheering students.

The education minister, Namirembe Bitamazire and Wakiso district authorities, were present.

Effort of the fire fighters from the Civil Aviation Authority, Entebbe Police Station and Fire Brigade headquarters in Kampala to save property and the bulding were futile.
