MP becomes MC
It seems there is no better person in the whole of Buikwe who can be a master of ceremonies at a presidential function than MP Isaac Ssejoba. When President Yoweri Museveni toured Buikwe in Masaka, the area MP was the master of ceremonies.
As all MPs and other officials poured praises on Museveni and urged him to stand for a fourth term, Ssejoba position as master of ceremonies gave him ample opportunity to ensure the President heard and saw him clearly. Ssejoba made sure the President heard everything from the horse’s mouth? Good strategy to be an MP and master of ceremonies.

Pray for drunkards
The acting executive director of Butabika national mental hospital, Dr. David Basangwa, has one stern warning, especially for the youth. never consume alcohol under the pretext that it is medicine. Basagwa was asked at a media dialogue on drug and alcohol abuse if alcohol can be used as medicine. Basangwa replied that alcohol can be used externally as an antiseptic on wounds and cuts. “But once you take it in, it ceases to be medicine, except in a few cases where people aged over 50 years are advised to take a little red wine to prevent heart problems. Any person below 50 years who claims is taking alcohol for treatment needs prayers.” This was on Tuesday at Hotel Triangle in Kampala.

Chief’s warning
The deputy county chief for Kyadondo, Walusimbi Ssengendo, has warned Ugandan traders of the danger of Chinese commodities filling our market. Addressing a congregation at Gayaza catholic Parish church recently, he said: “You must quickly pack off your goods because you cannot compete with Chinese traders. Return to the rural areas and dig otherwise in two years’ timed local traders will be out of business.”

Mutuluza scared
MP Peter Mutuluuza has a reason to worry over Amelia Kyambade’s growing popularity in his constituency. This was clear on Monday when President Museveni toured the area. Everywhere the President went, people praised Kyambadde, his principal private secretary. This did not please Mutuluza who complained that the President’s office was giving Kyambadde money to decampaign him.
