PATRICK Okanya looks set to bounce back as FUFA returning officer.

PATRICK Okanya looks set to bounce back as FUFA returning officer, reports James Bakama and Swalley Kenyi.

Sources revealed that FUFA’s executive wants the former Uganda Athletics Federation secretary to be in charge of the polls in December.

The executive will tomorrow seek the general assembly’s endorsement for its choice for the postbefore dissolution of the football body’s general assembly.

FUFA president Lawrence Mulindwa’s opponents are however against the idea.

“I have no problem with whoever is selected so long as the idea does not originate from the executive. Let the assembly make its choice,” said presidential aspirant Godfrey Kwizera.

Football delegate Kavuma Kabenge said the executive must not stay in office after tomorrow. “The returning officer is supposed to preside over the elections while the Chief Executive Officer runs other federation matters.”
