GULU-Kalongo Primary School in Pader has won this year’s Nanga Zone regional music festival. Kalongo beat five schools in the Saturday festival at St. Kizito Counseling Center at the district headquarters. Kalongo and Gulu Prison Primary School, which came second, will represent the sub-region in the national competition. The chief adjudicator, Anthony Lam Lawot, urged music teachers to teach the skills of sight reading saying it was the backbone of good music.

Road users warned
LIRA-Road users on the Lira-Soroti highway have been told to stop speeding and disobeying road signs. Wei Yaming, the project manager of China Road and Bridge Cooperation, the company upgrading the road, told journalists at Angweta-Angwet village on Tuesday that the number of accidents had gone up. He also warned the area residents against stealing signposts.
