NATIONAL basketball league men’s giants Falcons have secured a one-year sh75m sponsorship from Crown Beverages under the Mountain Dew brand

NATIONAL basketball league men’s giants Falcons have secured a one-year sh75m sponsorship from Crown Beverages under the Mountain Dew brand, reports Charles Mutebi.

The deal was sealed Tuesday after five months of talks between the two parties, leaving the record six-time league division one champions delighted. They had been backed by oil firm Mogas since 2006 but the arrangement was not renewed this season.

Dennis Mbidde’s Worldwide Marketing Services brokered the deal to be formally unveiled tomorrow at YMCA.

Club boss John Simbwa said they were pleased with the deal. “Everyone was excited over it,” he said.

“It makes us think how we should perform and it means the players should step up, so it puts us under pressure.”

Falcons face Kyambogo Warriors tomorrow as the league second round tips off. The package will see the club receive sh55 in cash and the rest in kind and kit.
