NEW Uganda Amateur Boxing Federation president Godfrey Nyakana has pledged to restore working relationships with National Council of Sports (NCS).
The Kampala Central LC 3 chairman was elected unopposed with his entire executive at Lugogo Saturday. Issa Kukungwe and Patrick Lihanda are his vice presidents.
Nyakana replaces UOC president Rogger Ddungu who resigned amid conflicts in the sport.
On Nyakana’s election on Saturday, the former professional boxer asked the former UABF care-taker committee led by Charles Egou to mend the relationship with NCS.
“I had lost so much trust in NCS but in sport there are no enemies. I request you to act as an umbilical cord so that we can work together,†Nyakana told the assembly delegates.
