IN my wedding night dream, I see myself dressed in sensual perfume and waist beads (obutiti). ABBA’s Andante is playing in the background, the lights are dim. I sashay out of the bathroom in a cloud of perfume towards my husband…Then I wake up and find myself asleep in my narrow single bed! Sigh!

When I shared this dream with a male friend, he said, “who cares about perfume and beads? Just come out naked.” Men! Anyway, it is important to plan your wardrobe for the wedding night. It is easy enough because all a bride needs is silky lingerie and a sensual scent.

For this night as man and wife, you must make an impact. The bride needs to be alluring, sensual and beautiful. Nothing works better than soft, smooth silk and lace to make a bride look both virginal and hot all at once. Silk is now readily available in town so you can have your wedding night wear made to measure. If silk is not your cup of tea, satin is just as good.

Rough linen and cotton will not do for this night as they can be hard and coarse. You need something slinky and suggestive. Don’t wear opaque, long sleeved night dresses that will remind him of his mother. Impatient grooms who think nightwear is a barrier can be treated to a naked body covered in body butter.

Apply it all over the body as it will leave your skin feeling silky and supple. The groom should also make an effort for his bride. Satin or silk boxers with matching robe come to mind.

Accessorise with a scent that will enhance your masculinity and get her hormones roaring.
