THE number of Ugandans who will have the opportunity of watching games at the 2010 World Cup in South Africa has risen after R Sport’s offer of four tickets to fans and musician Robert Kyagulanyi aka ‘Bobi Wine’.

The singer received his ticket from R Sport marketing manager Chounsar Kateregga at a press conference at Hotel Africana yesterday.

R Sport is an Abu Dhabi based company that deals in a variety of sports equipment and is eight months old on the Ugandan market.

The other three lucky fans will be drawn from the tickets that will be bought by his fans during his ‘‘Namusanga Ndeeba’’ album launch shows scheduled for October 2-4 at Hotel Africana, Colline Hotel Mukono and Gaba.

David Nganda, the firm’s communications manager said a ticket for the album launch automatically qualifies one to enter the draw to win the remaining tickets.

‘‘We have started operations in East Africa and would like to integrate music and sports. This is an all expenses paid trip for Bobi Wine and three fans to the opening match of the World Cup,” Nganda stressed.

“We chose him because of his connection with sports of late.’’

He said the company has an extra 146 2010 World Cup finals tickets that will be won by several fans in other countries on the continent where they have operations.
