KIBAALE Police is holding a 38-year-old man for allegedly defiling and impregnating his 14-year-old daughter.

KIBAALE Police is holding a 38-year-old man for allegedly defiling and impregnating his 14-year-old daughter.
The acting crimiminal investigations officer, Eric Wabwire, identified the arrested man as Godfrey Iga, a resident of Kagadi town council.
Iga was picked up by the Police on Thursday after Mary Namukisa, the girl’s mother, notified the authorities.
After the medical examination at Kagadi hospital, it emerged that her daughter was four months pregnant.
The girl said her father forced her to play sex with him five times when her mother was away.
Iga has denied the allegations, saying he could afford to get other women.
“The medical examinations are complete and we are only waiting for a psychiatrist to examine the mental status of Iga before taking him to court,†said Wabwire.
If proven that the man is mentally stable, he will be charged with aggravated defilement, he added. Aggravated defilement carries the death penalty.
He assured the relatives that they were protected by the law. This follows reports that Iga had tried to break out of the Police cells.
“There are so many women in Kagadi town. How could I have an affair with my daughter and impregnate her?†he said.
